Natural Antibiotic

It is no secret that vitamin C is an important part of a healthy diet.  Its use in fighting off the common cold is legendary.  Vitamin C is equally important for its use as a natural antibiotic.

Vitamin C’s antibiotic properties are so powerful that recent research has demonstrated vitamin C’s antibiotic effects can improve skin grafts.  The Cincinnati Shriner’s Burns Hospital found that vitamin C might improve the treatment of burn patients’ wounds.  The researchers found that adding vitamin C to lab-grown cultures of human skin cells improved the grafting properties of cultured skin substitutes.  In a further study, the team discovered that the skin substitutes grown with vitamin C provided a better barrier for covering burn wounds.  In addition, the wounds covered with the vitamin C treated cultured skin substitutes closed faster and remained viable longer.  They credited vitamin C’s antibiotic properties for the findings.

Vitamin C has so many wonderful health benefits due to its antioxidant, antibiotic and immune boosting properties.  Ensure you eat a variety of vitamin C rich foods daily and take a vitamin C supplement for extra insurance.  Vitamin C is available from your local health store or click here to purchase from Physician’s Preference.
