Many women suffer the debilitating effects of sugar cravings. It can take over their minds and have them constantly thinking about their next sugary snack. They would like to snap out of this craving cycle, but don’t know how to do it. Studies show that repeatedly indulging in high sugar cravings can contribute to a host of health concerns including arthritis, diabetes, headaches, depression and even yeast infections.
One simple trick when a sugar craving comes on is to wait fifteen minutes and drink a glass of water instead of caving into the craving. Research suggests that the craving will disappear during that time. The act of delaying can also help you beat the cravings altogether down the line:
“Delaying for 10 minutes, then 15 minutes, etc., allows your cravings to readily subside while you get involved with other things.
Delaying lets you take positive, health-promoting action by simple inaction. Yes, doing absolutely nothing can be pivotal when kicking or cutting back on sweets and quickie carbs.
Delaying turns procrastinating into an effective art form and proactive gesture.
Delaying allows you to zero in on what foods — if any — you’re really craving. Does your body really need cookies, cake, and pretzels? I highly doubt it!! Or would your amazing body rather have water, fresh vegetables and fruits, high-quality protein or healthy fats?..” (From “Squash Your Sugar Cravings”)
Also one can open a capsule of L-Glutamine and place powder on tongue to help curb sugar cravings. This process can assist even the most addicted:
“It’s the vicious cycle of addiction, the insulin blockers and the big sugar payoff locked in the eternal struggle of good and evil, freedom and censorship, light and darkness.
Luckily there is a way out of this dense forest: L-glutamine. This miracle supplement basically functions as an electric heater. You take L-glutamine and the sugar craving stops; you feel relaxed…” (From “Pathology of Pastries”)
Some suggest taking your supplements before breakfast to reduce cravings for sugar throughout the day. Others suggest taking smaller doses of glutamine throughout the day so that you are getting regular intake to help the cravings.
If you are susceptible to serious sugar cravings that are controlling your life, consider trying an L-Glutamine supplement. L-Glutamine is available from your local health store or click here to purchase from Physician’s Preference.
